Thomas Khusboo
Midfielder (1987-1991)
International
It must have taken strong conviction and selfbelief for Thomas Khushboo to arrive in Goa from the distant Andamans and Nicobar and try his luck with the big Goan clubs. But his relentless pursuit of excellence helped him thrive at Dempo and he got picked up by the mighty Mohun Bagan as a result. The late international midfielder’s vision and shooting ability was remarkable and his goal-scoring feats alone make a compelling case for him to be ranked among the finest players who have graced the Dempo colours. Khushboo also represented Goa in the Santosh Trophy. After doing a coaching course at the NIS, Kolkata, he went back to his hometown to help develop the game at the grassroots. Khushboo was the first ever international player from the Andamans.
