The year 1975 during which Dempo won the prestigious Rovers Cup and the Stafford Challenge Cup and made it to the final of the Bandodkar Gold Trophy started on a triumphant note as Dempo defeated Salgaocar 2-1 to emerge champions in the Plaza Soccer Trophy. Captain Ramesh Redkar gleefully accepted the prize at the hands of chief guest Pratapsinh Rane.
