Clifford Miranda

Clifford Miranda was the most sought-after player at Dempo during transfer season and it wasn’t without a reason why coach-cum-secretary Armando Colaco was always keen on getting him to sign on the dotted line. Miranda was the heartbeat of the most successful Dempo team of all time with his unbelievable work rate on the left flank. Joining the club as a young graduate from the Tata Football Academy in 2000 – when Dempo were in the second division NFL – he spent the first two seasons on the bench, but once he got his break, there was no looking back. A regular with the national team and a favourite of successive coaches, the articulate player won several hearts and honours with his speed, style and the tantalising crosses that he provided for the strikers to score.
