The Dempo Sports Club junior team is turning invincible after they thrashed FC Goa 4-0 in the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Junior League at the Dempo SC Academy ground at Ella in Old Goa and remained unbeaten in the 2019-2020 season on Friday.
Dempo Sports Club started scoring early in the first session through captain Shreyash Naik and he completed his hat-trick in the second session to completely dominate FC Goa.
FC Goa started defensively and Dempo SC capitalised on this approach scoring in the 15th minute when Topon Minj crossed the ball towards Shreyash, who capitalised on a FC Goa defensive lapse, to nail in the first blow on FC Goa.
The early goal did not wake the visitors from their slumber but instead buoyed the hosts who kept pressing for another goal which they nearly got around in the 18th minute when Rohit Shirodkar crossed into the box but none of the Dempo SC strikers were able to capitalise.
Dempo SC maintained the tempo of the first session in the second and consolidated their position in the 57th minute when substitute Leo Gomindes found Shreyash with a high ball which was cleanly headed in by the latter with a powerful header.
The second goal did not rattle the FC Goa lads and Dempo SC went on to score their third and Shreyash to record his hat-trick in the 85th minute. Substitute Asmon Viegas scored the last goal of the evening in the 88th minute.
