Abhijit Mondal

While the attention and credit for Dempo’s phenomenal success during the second Armando Colaco era was largely hogged by the prolific striker Ranti Martins, other players also strove ceaselessly to make it happen. Abhijit Mondal joined Dempo from Bharati Sangha after the Goans had just won promotion to the NFL elite and grew in stature over the seasons. His consistency and commitment between the sticks helped Dempo win the biggest prizes in Indian football during his tenure. He also exercised a big influence in the dressing room, holding the team together whenever crisis threatened.
