High flying Dempo SC will look to settle their nerves against bottom placed Air India when they both meet for Round VII of I-League clash at Fatorda stadium on Saturday.
Having being rattled 3-1 by ONCG in their earlier match, Dempo Coach Armando Colaco will be looking to seek the winning ways again. While Ryuji Seuoka is expected to start in the front, Englishman Rohan Rickets seems likely to get a nod from the coach as Koko Sakibo is yet to recover from his Injury. Owing to a two match ban on midfielder Climax Lawrence, the Dempo coach might have a tough task in hand to arrange his midfield. But, with the likes of National team players like Clifford Miranda, Peter Carvalho, Anthony Pereira, Romeo Fernandes, Godwin Franco and others the worry seems to die fast.
Having conceded 3 goals in their previous match, it seems likely that the experienced duo of Mahesh Gawli and Samir Naik might feature against Air India. They will be ably supported by Cresson Antao, Rowilson Rodrigues or Debabrata Roy in the flanks.
On the other hand, Air India will have a task cut out as coach Godfrey Pereira will be out of the team dug-out owing to his contract dispute with the management. Anthony Fernandes meanwhile will take charge of the team.
Air India’s foreign duo of Ezeh Henry and Elijah Junior have been far from impressive this season as they have shared only a single goal between them leaving most of the scoring to be done by their midfielders. P Mohan Raj and Prakash Thorat have been lively in the midfield while Punjabi trio of Prem Kumar, Gagandeep Singh and Baldeep Singh have held the Air India fort in the defence.
It might seem to be a one-sided contest on paper, but Dempo SC will not be taking their opponents lightly. They would like to earn full three points from this match as the race for the title gets hotter after each round.Brought to you by
