Myron Fernandes and Aniston Fernandes have completed nearly two and a half months of their training stint at FC Midtjylland. The two boys left Indian shores on the 20th of February and are scheduled to return around the third week of May.
While speaking to www.demposportsclub.com, the two talented youngsters from Goa said that the training stint had helped them immensely and that they were looking forward to utilising what they have learnt at FCM for the best benefit of Dempo Sports Club in the future.
“The training has not only helped us in the technical aspects of the game but has also helped in understanding the ‘way of life’ for a footballer aspiring to become a professional in Europe. Their training is very intense and lot of focus is given on having the correct lifestyle, nutrition and psychological aspects for footballers to develop into professionals. We thank our Chairman Shrinivas Dempo and FCM for this opportunity. We hope to apply what we have learnt at FCM and contribute to the success of Dempo SC in the future.”
Both players are important players for the Dempo SC U20 setup and are tipped to break into the Dempo SC first team in the near future. Myron Fernandes , the boy from Mapusa plays as a striker and Aniston Fernandes, from Salcette plays as an attacking midfielder.
Dempo SC Head of Youth development Matthew D’Costa is scheduled to travel to FCM shortly to have detailed discussions with the coaches at FCM and assess the progress Myron and Aniston have made during their time there. He will also discuss the success of such a player exchange with the FCM Academy Director Claus Steinlein to chalk out a plan for future player exchanges.
