A revived and resurgent Sporting Club will lock horns with Dempo SC in a round 21 match to be played at Duler stadium tomorrow.
For a team which had the worst possible start of the season, winning four matches on a trot is extremely comforting. Hence, Sporting Clube de Goa will be looking to extend their dream run against their bitter city rivals Dempo Sports Club.
On the other hand, Dempo SC has a lot of catching up to do as they have fallen behind table toppers Churchill Bros by 6 points. Coach Armando Colaco will have his task cut out and ensure that the team comes out with full 3 points.
Dempo SC didn’t have a great start to the New Year after winning just one match out of possible six games. According to the officials, this might also be related to the numerous injuries to their first team players due to which the effectiveness of the play was reduced.
However, this time around Coach Armando will have a full squad at his disposal with all the foreigners being fully fit and raring to go. Ryuji Seuoka will be seen in action after a long period of injury while Climax Lawrence, Mahesh Gawli, Joaquim Abranches are all likely to be starters. Debarata Roy will be doubtful opener after suffering an injury against ONGC. Samir Naik has been sidelined for at least 3 months after injuring his ligament. He has been operated and currently advised to take rest.
Unlike announced earlier, this match will take place at the Duler stadium after it became clear that Tilak stadium will not be ready until the end of this month. Dempo enthusiasts at Vasco will have to wait till 6th April to see their favourite team in action at the floodlit Tilak Stadium.
