Five Dempo players called up for National Camp

Five Dempo SC players – Clifford Miranda, Anthony Pereira, Subhashish Roy Choudhary, Joaquim Abranches and Samir Naik have been called up for AFC Challenge Cup probable’s camp in Dubai from the 15th of February 2012. The 30 players will assemble in New Delhi on the 13th before flying out to Dubai for the camp.

AFC Challenge Cup 2012

The AFC Challenge Cup will begin in Kathmandu, Nepal on the 8th of March 2012.  India is drawn in a tough group consisting of DPR Korea, Philippines and Tajikistan.

All the Dempo SC players are seasoned campaigners for the National team having represented India on numerous occasions.

Anthony Pereira and Climax Lawrence have been in scintillating form this season, while Samir Naik has been a rock in the Dempo SC defence. All three will be looking forward to contributing in India’s Challenge Cup campaign. Joaquim Abranches too will be keen on carrying on his performances for Dempo SC to the National team setup.


The whole of India will be hoping for an encore

Subhashish Roy Choudhary will be looking to stamp his authority as the best shot stopper in the country and make the No.1 jersey his own. The lad from Bengal is upbeat about his chances in the National team and India’s chances of winning the AFC Challenge Cup.

All players are determined to perform well during the National Camp and hoping to be selected for the National team for the AFC Challenge Cup.

Mahesh Gawli and Climax Lawrence announced their retirement from International football recently and Indian team would be missing their quality and experience.
