Dempo’s sign Panjim youngster Sahil

Sahil Tavora

Dempo Sports Club  announces the signing of Sahil Tavora, from SESA football academy in Goa. The 18-year-put pen to paper- on Thursday for an undisclosed fee, thus committing to the club for a period of three years.

The attacking mid-fielder will give head coach, Arthur Papas another option on the midfield. The teenage sensation had impressed Papas during his exploits in Goa Pro league earlier this month, where he had managed to hit the back of the net on two occasions and had five assists to his name.

“It’s like a dream come true. I always wanted to play for Dempo as it is my childhood club. I cannot describe how excited I am about this,” said a delighted Sahil who will look to continue his domestic form on to a bigger stage.

A firm believer in God, Sahil gives credit to his parents and brother who have supported his dream. “They have always supported me in my hopes of becoming a good player. I even changed my school for better football training. I would always be thankful to my parents and my coaches,” said Sahil.

Talking about the challenges which await him in a club of Dempo’s stature, Sahil said, “Playing in the I-League is my objective and I know it is going to take a lot more hard work and commitment to get there, but it feels good to be another step closer.”
